Vol. 160 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Postal Services.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a daily postal delivery service will be introduced in the Loughane, Ballybann and Newbridge areas, which are situated in the Askeaton postal district; and when the reorganisation of postal services in the Limerick head office district will be implemented.

It was hoped that the reorganisation of postal services in the Limerick head office district would be effected early in the new year, but as the plans prepared entailed an extension of motor working they have to be reviewed in the light of the petrol situation. I am unable, therefore, to indicate when the full reorganisation scheme will be implemented but I am hopeful that it may be feasible within the next three months to provide a daily delivery in the townlands in the Askeaton area mentioned by the Deputy.
