Vol. 160 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry School Vacancy.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that there is a vacancy for a teacher in Coolick national school, County Kerry, and that the manager recommended a qualified teacher; and, if so, whether he is now prepared to sanction the appointment.

I am aware that there is a vacancy for an assistant teacher in Coolick N.S. and that the reverend manager has proposed a qualified teacher to fill the post. A decision as to whether the proposed appointment of that teacher may be sanctioned in Coolick school has been postponed pending the result of proposals which have been made by my Department with a view to the transfer of a redundant teacher to an alternative position.
