Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment in Building Industry.

asked the Taoiseach if he will give particulars of the total number of persons unemployed in building, contracting and works of construction at the most recent convenient date and at the corresponding date in 1955.

The total number of persons on the Live Register classified to the industries general building construction and repair work and construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, etc., was 11,291 on the 19th November, 1955, and 16,345 on the 17th November, 1956, the most recent date for which such information is available.
