Vol. 160 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Establishment of Horse-meat Factory.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether his attention has been directed to a resolution, dealing with the establishment in this country of a horse-meat factory, which was passed by the Regional Convention of the National Farmers' Association, at Cahir, County Tipperary, on 15th November last; and if he is yet in a position to say what progress he has made in the examination of this question.

My attention has not been directed to the resolution referred to in the first part of the question. As regards the second part, I would refer the Deputy to the final paragraph of my reply to his question on the 21st November.

If the Minister's attention has not been drawn to that resolution, could we ask the Minister now to direct his attention to it and consider it in the light of day? Would the Minister read the resolution now?

That is a suggestion, not a question.

The Deputy may certainly do so and also he may enjoy the assurance of my cordial readiness to meet his wishes.
