Vol. 160 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Arterial Drainage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance when he will be in a position to indicate the arterial drainage schemes which will be started in 1957.

The question of the provision to be made for arterial drainage construction works in the Estimate for Public Works and Buildings for the year 1957-58 is at present under examination. Pending a decision in this matter I will not be in a position to indicate the schemes which will be started in 1957. The Deputy is aware, of course, that there are certain statutory steps which must be taken before work on a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945 can be started.
