asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each item the total amount collected by way of the special import levy.

As regards the receipts from each item in the Special Import Levy for the period up to 31st March last I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Deputy O'Malley's question on 9th of May last.

As regards the receipts from 1st April onwards, the amounts derived from each item in the Special Import Levy and the Special Import (No. 2) Levy are aggregated on a half-yearly basis. The figures for the half year from April to September, 1956, are given in the following table:—
