Vol. 161 No. 9

Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of North Dublin Rivers.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cost to the Dublin Corporation of disinfecting and cleaning the Ballyhoy and Nanniken rivers in the North Dublin district.

I understand from the Dublin Corporation that no proposals for carrying out the work in question have been formulated, and that consequently the cost of such an under-taking cannot be stated.

Do I gather that the Minister said no proposals have been formulated?

That is right.

Is the Minister aware that for the past six weeks men have been working on the cleaning of the Ballyhoy river, so there must be some proposal?

There seems to be some confusion as to the names of the rivers in which the Deputy is interested. Last week, for example, he asked a question in relation to another matter and we could not connect it up, even after making contact with corporation officials.
