Vol. 162 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Importation and Sale of Agricultural Machinery.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that, because of the monopoly in the import and sale of certain items of agricultural machinery, farmers and contractors are often held up unduly for spare parts, and, if so, if he will take steps to have this situation remedied.

I am not aware of the existence of any monopoly conditions in regard to the importation and sale of agricultural machinery. If the Deputy has information of the existence of restrictive trade practices in this connection, I would suggest that he should convey it to the Fair Trade Commission.
