Vol. 162 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Television Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has received any proposals from, or entered into any discussions or negotiations with, any group regarding the establishment of a television service in this country, and if he is in a position to make a statement on the matter; further, whether it is proposed to keep any such service under State control.

As I indicated last month in my reply to the debate on the Vote for Wireless Broadcasting, a number of proposals for the establishment of a television service here have been received and are being examined. I have no further statement to make at this stage.
