A Cheann Comhairle, I asked for your decision in regard to my intention to raise on the Adjournment this evening the subject matter of Question No. 5 on yesterday's Order Paper.
Business of Dáil.
I considered the matter and have decided that it is not a matter that has been envisaged by Standing Orders.
I feel it is most unfair both from th Minister's point of view and from mine that you did not allow this debate.
I cannot allow my decision to be discussed in this manner.
With respect, Sir, I am not discussing your decision. I am saying it is unfortunate——
I refuse to allow the matter to be discussed in this irregular manner.
I do not think I am discussing it. I want to say that the Minister made a statement here yeaterday which was not correct.
The Deputy may not get up and discuss any matter he chooses. The Order of Business has been decided.
I protest that I have not been given an opportunity of contradicting the Minister and of stating the true position. The Minister said there was a trade dispute. There is no such dispute. I think the Minister should also have been given an opportunity to reply to that.
I have no interest in this question, but I do not think the Minister answered the question——
I cannot allow my decision to be discussed in this fashion.
The Deputy may raise it on the Finance Bill.
