Vol. 163 No. 1

Gaeltarra Eireann Agent: Correction of Statement.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I should like to correct an inaccuracy in a statement which I made yesterday when replying to the debate on the Estimate for the Department of the Gaeltacht. I mentioned that one of the three points on which the dismissal by my predecessor of the agent in question, was based, was that he had sold Gaeltarra Eireann products outside his agency district. I stated that one of the complaints in this respect referred to the sale of these goods to the Shannon Airport shop and went on to explain that these goods had been supplied to the shop through a central purchasing depot in Dublin operated by the air companies.

The complaint I had in mind referred to the sale of Gaeltarra Eireann goods in the Great Southern Hotel, Galway, which goods had been supplied to the hotel by the C.I.E. purchasing depot in Dublin, having already been properly supplied to that depot by the Gaeltarra Eireann agent for the Dublin district.
