As indicated in the reply to the Deputy's question on the 15th May, 1957, the saving of £100,000 was to be obtained by a critical and sustained review of all aspects of expenditure on the Defence Forces and by the elimination of all but the most essential forms of outlay. Present indications are that the saving will be achieved.
