Vol. 168 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Widow's Pension.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why the widow's pension of 23/6 payable to Mrs. Kate McCarron, Crossconnell, Clonmany, County Donegal, has been reduced to 8/6 per week.

Following a recent reinvestigation of her circumstances, Mrs. McCarron's means were calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Acts and the Seventh Schedule to the Social Welfare Act, 1952, to be such that she was entitled under the Acts to a widow's non-contributory pension of 8/6 per week and a decision was therefore given by a deciding officer on the 7th instant reducing her pension to that rate.
