Vol. 168 No. 6

Savings Banks Bill, 1958—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Trustee Savings Banks Acts, 1863 to 1920, to provide for the cesser of certain provisions in those Acts and in the Post Office Savings Bank Acts, 1861 to 1920, and to extend Section 11 of the Post Office Savings Bank Act, 1861.— (Minister for Finance.)

Will the Minister say when it will be taken?

Next Tuesday. I want to have No. 12 discharged. The words "Post Office Savings Bank" are added to the Title because we are dealing with the Post Office Savings Bank as well as the Trustee Savings Banks.

Might I ask is the Title of the Bill being amended now?

Yes. The Title of No. 1 is the Title now.

When will the Bill be circulated?

To-morrow.

And you want to take it next Tuesday?

Very well.
