Vol. 168 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Purchases.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) the total number of holdings purchased to date in each county by the Land Commission under Section 27 of the Land Act, 1950, (b) the total acreage purchased, and (c) the total price paid.

The information sought is set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. Operations under Section 27 of the Land Act, 1950, were suspended as an economy measure between July, 1956, and 31st March, 1958. I have authorised restoration of proceedings under the section for the current financial year.
