Vol. 168 No. 11

Order of Business.

Business, as set out on the Order Paper, will be taken as follows: No. 1—Votes 37 to 66 inclusive. It is proposed that public business be not interrupted to take Private Deputies' business.

I understand there is a question that the House might be informed of the business which the Government contemplate will require to be completed in this session. So far as the position can be foreseen at the moment, that business will include the completion of the Estimates and all stages of the following Bills which are at present before the Dáil:—

Transport Bill, 1958.

Administration of Estates Bill, 1957.

Savings Banks Bill, 1958.

The Finance Bill.

The Appropriation Bill.

Then there are all stages of others Bills which have yet to be circulated and which include:—

The Great Northern Railway Bill.

Agricultural Produce (Cereals) (Amendment) Bill.

Housing (Amendment) Bill.

Solicitors (Amendment) Bill.

An International Finance Corporation Bill and the

Turf Developement Bill.

There will, perhaps, be, in addition, one or two motions. However, so far as the position can now be stated, that will represent the business for the remainder of the session.

What about the Charities Bill, the Electricity Supply Board Bill, the Hire Purchase Bill?

In the case of the Electricity Supply Board (Amendment) Bill—which, I hope, will be circulated before the end of the month—it may, because of its character—it will be a miscellaneous Bill—be thought practicable to take the Second Reading before the reces and to have the Committee Stage for the autumn session. It is a Bill which deals with a number of matters. People might wish to consider amendments to it. It is not proposed to take the other Bills this session.

I take it that a list of all these will be available this evening?

I shall arrange that a list will be circulated.
