Vol. 168 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lough Corrib Boating Amenity.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received representations from boat owners to have the Friars' Cut on Lough Corrib deepened; and if he will indicate when he proposes to have the work carried out.

I presume that the question refers to representations for the removal, as part of the works under the Corrib-Clare drainage scheme, of a shoal of silt in Lough Corrib near the mouth of the Friars' Cut. As the clearance of the shoal is not necessary for drainage purposes, it is not proposed to remove it as part of the drainage scheme.
