Vol. 169 No. 7

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order:— Nos. 3 and 4 and, in 4, Votes 48 and 46. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 7 p.m. to take No. 4.

The Estimates will go on for an hour or two and then we resume Finance?

No; the Estimates will be taken from 7 p.m. until the Adjournment.

When is it likely that the Housing Bill will be circulated?

To-morrow.

And taken the following week?

I should think so.

Is it proposed to take all stages of that Bill before the House rises for the summer recess?

I think it would be desirable to have all stages taken before the House would rise.

It will not be controversial?

I do not think so.

Could the Tánaiste. say what is the reason for taking the Second Stage of the E.S.B. Bill this session?

It is merely a matter of convenience. The purpose was in anticipation of amendments being moved to give people proposing amendments an opportunity of considering the matter.

This is just a try-on.

It might not be a good idea.

On the Order of Business I wish to raise the subject matter of Question No. 8 on the Adjournment.

I shall communicate with the Deputy further.
