Vol. 169 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Halverstown (Kildare) New School.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received tenders for the erection of a new school at Halverstown, County Kildare; and, if so, when the tenders were received; whether the contract has been placed; and when it is likely that work will commence.

Tenders for the erection of this school were received four months ago but a contract has not yet been placed. The delay has arisen from the necessity for making inquiries concerning the tenders. One of these was found to be unacceptable; one was subsequently withdrawn and in another case the contractor failed to reply to the inquiries. It is hoped, however, to place a contract in the near future.
