Vol. 170 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Level Crossing on Dublin-Sligo Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals for the repair of the level crossing two miles north of Mullingar, on the main Dublin-Sligo road and the Dublin-Sligo railway line; and whether, in view of its present dangerous, condition, he will request the appropriate authority to have the matter remedied at an early date.

No such proposals have been received by me. The initiative in arranging for necessary repairs rests, I understand, with C.I.E. The West-meath County Council undertake such repairs on behalf of C.I.E. and I am informed that the county council recently informed C.I.E. of a deterioration in the road surface between the gates of the level crossing.
