Vol. 171 No. 2

Written Answers. - Cattle Exports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total exports of cattle (live and dead) each month in 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1958 (i.e. the amalgamation of tables 8, 9 and 10 of the economic series) and the basis on which the exports contained in tables 9 and 10 have been converted.

The following statement shows for each month in 1955-57 and for January-August 1958 the estimated number of live cattle equivalent to the domestic exports of cattle, beef and veal. The exports in question include those specified by the Deputy and also exports classified to "Beef and Veal, dried, cured, salted, smoked or cooked" and to "Meat and meat preparations in airtight containers, Other".
