Vol. 171 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Foreign Manufactured Souvenir Plaques.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that large quantities of foreign manufactured souvenir plaques bearing Gaelic inscriptions and Irish scenery are on sale in this country; and if he will take steps to end this situation.

I have not received any representations that the present rates of duty applicable to plaques are inadequate to protect the home manufacturers of these articles but if any such representations are made by the manufacturers concerned they will be carefully considered.
