Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Achill Sound Dispensary.

asked the Minister for Health whether Mayo County Council has submitted a proposal to him for the provision of a dispensary in Achill Sound, County Mayo.

On 16th July last, following examination of proposals for the provision of certain new dispensary buildings in the county, the local authority was informed that it was considered that the provision of a new dispensary at Achill Sound was sufficiently urgent to warrant building being undertaken even in the present financial circumstances. The purchase of a suitable site had been sanctioned earlier and I understand that the purchase formalities are now being completed. It is now a matter for the local authority to proceed with the planning and erection of this dispensary.

What does "even in the present financial circumstances" mean?

After all, the position is still stringent. We have not cleared up the mess yet.

Two different people wrote the replies. Prosperity was revealed in the previous question.

They will now undertake the urgent work.

Why does the Minister not look at the questions beforehand?
