Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Tipperary River.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that, owing to the flooding of the Carrigahorig river, Nenagh, over 4,000 acres of land are being flooded; and, if so, if he will take steps to have this river cleaned.

The improvement of the Carrigahorig river by way of a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, will be considered by the Commissioners of Public Works in due course, but it may be many years before it can be reached in the arterial drainage programme.

Does this not come in the Nenagh river catchment area?

No, I do not think so.
