Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Road Workers.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of road workers employed by the Kildare County Council in the last week of October, 1958, or on the nearest convenient date, and on the corresponding date last year, apart from the number employed on the special road scheme at Johnstown, County Kildare.

Returns of employment furnished by local authorities relate to the last day of the month. The latest date for which figures are available is 30th September, 1958, on which date the total number of road workers employed by Kildare County Council was 300. The figure for the corresponding date last year was 332. The returns furnished do not distinguish between the scheme at Johnstown and other works.
