Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Internees sent for Hospital Treatment.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of persons interned under the Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940, who were sent out of the internment camp for hospital treatment at (a) the Curragh Military Hospital and (b) other hospitals.

As the Deputy is aware, certain particulars are furnished to the House in accordance with the provisions of Section 9 of the Offences. Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940. I am not prepared to add to those particulars. I can assure the House, however, that the arrangements for looking after the health of detained persons are adequate.
