As the information is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.
Following is the statement:—
The following are the particulars which have been obtained in the case of the voluntary hospitals from returns furnished by these hospitals to the Hospitals Commission, and in the case of health authority institutions from returns furnished by the relevant health authorities, of the hospital beds available in Limerick City and County on 31st March of each of the years 1954 and 1958, excluding the county infirmary.

In addition, there were beds available for medical cases in the infirmary sections of the Limerick City Home and Hospital and the County Home, Newcastlewest, in each of the two years.
Beds in District Mental Hospital and in St. Vincent's Institution for mental defectives at Lisnagry have not been included.
It will be appreciated that there may have been day to day variations in the bed complements of the various hospitals but these variations are of a relatively minor nature.
