Vol. 172 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper: Nos. 4 and 5. It is also proposed that Private Members' business be taken at 9 o'clock.

Would the Tánaiste say what is the position of No. 7, the Apprenticeship Bill?

There are discussions proceeding at the moment and I am awaiting the outcome of these discussions.

I take it, therefore, that it is not intended to proceed with the Committee Stage, pending the outcome of those discussions?

On the assumption that the discussions will be reasonably expeditious, that is the position.

In other words, it is likely you will do in the end what you would not do in the beginning and find that you are wiser for having done so.

That is one way of interpreting it.

Can the Tánaiste say what is the position with regard to No. 8, the Solicitors (Amendment) Bill?

May be the Minister for Health will explain.

I should like notice of that question.
