Vol. 172 No. 9

Business of Dáil.

Before the House adjourns, may I inquire whether it is proposed to take the Vote on Account when the House reassembles on 25th February?

No, it will not be taken on 25th February. It is anticipated that the Book of Estimates will be available on 6th March. It is possible that the Vote on Account might be taken on summary figures without the details of it, but that is a matter the Deputy might consider.

Does the Tánaiste realise that if the Book of Estimates is published on 6th March, it gives only one week for the House to discuss the Vote on Account? That is most unusual.

It is unusual that Easter is so early this year. It can be probably arranged to have a summary of the total figures for each Estimate prepared earlier so that the Vote on Account may be taken earlier.

Does the Tánaiste realise that if the Government had wakened up to the fact six months ago, they would know when Easter was?

They were too busy with P.R.

The Dáil adjourned at 12.5 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 25th February, 1959.
