Vol. 173 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tralee Waste Water Notices.

27.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that since June, 1957, several waste water notices have been served on his Department by Tralee Urban District Council in connection with leaking storage tanks and w. c. cisterns in the Staff Barracks, Tralee, and that such leakages involve the daily loss of thousands of gallons of water; and, if so, what action he proposes to take to remedy the matter.

The property in question which is administered by the Commissioners of Public Works is let to a number of tenants who are responsible for internal maintenance including maintenance of internal plumbing. I am advised that the commissioners have carried out any repairs which have from time to time been found necessary to that part of the water supply system for which they are responsible, and that they have drawn the attention of the tenants to any defects for the repair of which they are liable.
