Vol. 173 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement of County Cork Coast Road.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made in the improvement of the coast road at Kilcatherine, County Cork; between what points it is intended to extend the improvement of the road; and how far the work has been completed.

A proposal of the Cork County Council to improve a section of approximately one mile of this road (between Ballycrovane and Derrigroe) was approved on 5th December, 1958. I understand that work on this section has been completed except for surface dressing, which the council hope to undertake in the near future. The formulation of proposals for the improvement of further sections of the road is a matter for the council in the first instance.
