Vol. 173 No. 7

Written Answers. - Rates on Agricultural Land.

53.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each county council for the financial years 1957-58 and 1958-59 the net rate payable on agricultural land having regard to the local rate in the pound and the agricultural grant, including the employment allowance, on a holding of (a) £20 land valuation, and (b) £100 land valuation, on the assumption that an allowance is claimed for one full time relative or employee in each case.

No employment allowance is granted in respect of a holding of £20 land valuation. The net rates payable in the years 1957-58 and 1958-59 on such a holding in each county were given in reply dated 3rd March, 1959, to question by Deputy Corish (Dáil Debates, Volume 173, columns 373 and 374). The net rates payable on a holding of £100 land valuation where the employment allowance is granted in respect of one employee in the years 1957-58 and 1958-59, may be calculated by subtracting the sum of £17 from the figures given at (b) in respect of each county in the above-mentioned reply to Deputy Corish's question.
