Vol. 173 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Branch Factories: Exports to Great Britain.

7.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of branch factories which are precluded by arrangement from exporting their products to Great Britain.

I have no information as to the number of companies operating in this country under the disability referred to.

Would the Minister consider, having regard to the fact that we are to have some form of free trade, that there should be a review of the position concerning these branch factories?

I do not think there can be very many of them, and it would be impossible to carry out an investigation of the circumstances in a case of this kind.
