Vol. 174 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Weather Reports for Coastal Shipping.

10.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will investigate the possibility of making available twice daily for the benefit of Irish coastal shipping and fishing vessels exact radio reports of weather conditions at selected points round the Irish coast, in view of the fact that the British Meteorological Office service for British coastal shipping leaves the greater part of the Irish sea uncovered.

I am not aware that there is any demand for the facilities referred to by the Deputy but I am prepared to investigate and consider any requests for such facilities which I may receive from the interests concerned.
