Vol. 174 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Galway Turbary.

22.

Mr. Killilea

andMr. Kitt asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have taken any steps to acquire the turbary on the Gore Estate, Cloonacat, Kilkerrin, County Galway.

This turbary, comprising about 100 acres, is already on hands of the Land Commission. In recent years expenditure to the amount of £7,000 has been incurred on development of the bog, including road-making and drainage, preliminary to its distribution. Final arrangements for allocation of the turbary, however, may have to await completion of a rearrangement of holdings in the locality.
