Vol. 175 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Meath Estate.

14.

asked the Minister for Lands why the Land Commission discontinued proceedings to acquire the Olohan Estate at Maperath, Kells, County Meath, for the relief of congestion; if he is aware that other men who are not congests acquired the estate; and if in view of the many small holders who live in its vicinity, the Land Commission will now consider the propriety of acquiring the estate.

This Estate was offered voluntarily to the Land Commission but negotiations with the owner were unsuccessful. The Estate was recently sold to four local competitive bidders. The Land Commission's information is that there is no congestion in the same locality.
