asked the Minister for Finance whether anything can be done to secure the early filling up of the old Ulster Canal, especially in the environs of the town of Monaghan, where it at present threatens to constitute a nuisance and a menace to public health.

Arrangements have now been made with the Monaghan County Council for the carrying out of certain works on the Ulster Canal in the vicinity of the town of Monaghan.
