Vol. 177 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Piped Water Schemes.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position of the proposal of the Kerry County Council to provide a piped water scheme for the Ardfert district.

Contract documents have been approved for the scheme, and I understand that the Kerry County Council is taking steps to acquire the lands and rights needed.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent need for a piped water supply for the district of Camp, County Kerry, and that the Kerry County Council received a deputation from that district in respect of this matter; and whether any proposals were submitted to his Department; and, if so, what is their present position.

I am informed that the Kerry County Council received a deputation of residents from the Camp area in December last when the question of the need for a piped water supply was discussed and that the matter is under consideration locally in connection with the determination of priorities for water supply schemes. No proposals for a scheme for Camp have yet been submitted to my Department by the council.
