asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring all or part of the Burke estate at Ballydugan, Loughrea, County Galway; and, if so, what progress has been made towards the acquisition.

Proceedings instituted by the Land Commission some years ago for acquisition of more than 300 acres of this estate were successfully resisted by the owner whose objection was allowed. In the light of inquiries made regarding the property in recent years, the information before me suggests that fresh proceedings at this stage are not warranted.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Blake Estate at Clashganny, Kiltulla, Athenry; and, if so, what progress has been made towards the acquisition.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of this estate but they are having inquiries made in the matter.
