Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - “Iron Curtain” Countries: Imports and Exports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total value of imports and exports between this country and each country on the other side of the "Iron Curtain" in each of the years 1956, 1957, 1958 and to the latest date in 1959 for which figures are available.

I propose, with the permission of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the value of imports from and total exports to the U.S.S.R. and to certain Eastern European countries in each of the years 1956, 1957 and 1958 and in the period from 1st January, 1959, to 31st August, 1959, the latest date for which these figures are available.

Following is the statement:—
