Vol. 177 No. 7

Order of Business.

Business will be taken in the following order: Nos. 7, 8, 9, 2, 10, 3 and 11. Private Members' Business will be taken at 9 o'clock. In connection with No. 7, the Intoxicating Liquor Bill, it is proposed to take to-day only the Minister's opening statement.

I understand it is proposed to embark upon the debate on the Minister's statement to-morrow morning.

No, on this day week. I thought we were meeting the wishes of the Opposition in that regard.

Would the Taoiseach be able to inform me when it might be possible to discuss the motion in my name on the Order Paper?

That is not a matter for the Government.

Can the Taoiseach give us an indication now as to what business he has in mind for to-morrow?

I shall let the Deputy know.

On a point of order, the Taoiseach answered my question but I had to ask my colleagues what he said. Ministers have a habit of speaking in a low tone, or not talking directly to the person who asks the question. I should like Ministers to speak louder in future.

In view of the possibility of a petrol strike, would the Government see that there is a supply available for priests, doctors and ambulances?

And Deputies.

The Deputy should have given notice of his intention to raise such a question.

The public have got notice. I am giving the Government notice now.
