Vol. 178 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Subsidies to Six County Government.

2.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state from information at his disposal the details and the total amounts of subsidies granted to the Six County Government for its maintenance and upkeep by the Government of Great Britain.

The financial relations between the two Governments are complex and precise information regarding them is not available to me.

Of all people, the Taoiseach ought to know the answer to the question. There is too much hush-hush. It is no wonder there is no progress in this business. There should be more frankness.

Has the Deputy a supplementary question to put?

I asked a question and I request your permission to raise the matter on the Adjournment, in order that I may ask it again.

I just want to make it quite clear that I am not going to take responsibility for the arrangements of the Northern Ireland Government.

I am not satisfied. The Taoiseach is responsible for the solving of this problem. There is too much hush-hush. It is no wonder there are people throwing bombs.

The Deputy may not make a speech at this stage.

I know. There is too much hush-hush. That is why we have so much trouble in the country.
