asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of (a) married men and (b) single men in receipt of unemployment assistance in the employment exchange districts of Killybegs, Dunfanaghy and Dungloe, County Donegal, during the months of December, 1959 and January, 1960.

The information sought by the Deputy has been obtained in respect of the 19th December, 1959, and the 30th January, 1960, the latest dates in each month for which figures are available. On the 19th December, 1959, there were 314 married men and 342 single men in receipt of unemployment assistance from Killybegs Branch Employment Office, 276 married men and 456 single men from Dunfanaghy Branch Employment Office and 455 married men and 551 single men from Dungloe Employment Exchange. On the 30th January, 1960, the figures were 324 married men and 331 single men from Killybegs Branch Employment Office, 312 married men and 512 single men from Dunfanaghy Branch Employment Office and 625 married men and 727 single men from Dungloe Employment Exchange.
