Written Answers. - Salaries of State Employees.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of (a) established civil servants (b) unestablished civil servants and (c) temporary State employees who were on the 1st January, 1959, in receipt of a salary in excess of £600 per annum and under £800 per annum.

The numbers are as follows:— (a) 2,460, (b) 541, (c) 262. Salary has been taken as including allowances.

The figures do not include persons paid out of the Central Fund or persons remunerated on a piece work, task work, capitation or fee basis.
