The amount and effective date of each increase in the weekly wages of county council road workers in the years 1959 and 1960 and the current rate of wages in each county are set out in the following statement. There are no proposals for the grant of increases to county council road workers awaiting sanction in my Department.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give details of the total wages paid to road workers in each county in 1957, 1958 and 1959; and if separate figures are not available where road workers' wages are concerned, if he will give details of the total wages and salaries paid by each county council for those years.
The information requested is not available in my Department in respect of the years 1957, 1958 and 1959, but the total wages of road workers in respect of the years ended 31st March, 1958, and 31st March, 1959, and the estimated figures in respect of the year ending 31st March, 1960, are set out in the following statement.
