Vol. 179 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cattle Exports: Fourteen-Day Test.

42.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he considers, that the present 14-day test for the export of cattle is satisfactory; and if he will adopt a more reliable test.

The 14-day test is a more severe test than that used for the purposes of accreditation under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme, but it is the test which the British authorities require at present in the case of store cattle imported into Britain which are not of accredited status. We cannot, therefore, substitute another type of test.
