Vol. 180 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Reclamation Scheme in Monaghan.

22.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that there is considerable delay in the inspection of work under the Land Reclamation Scheme in County Monaghan; and if he will take steps to have applications under the scheme attended to with the minimum amount of delay.

I am aware of the considerable arrears in the inspection of land reclamation applications in County Monaghan. This has been caused by the transfer of staff for short periods for other work, and an increase in the volume of applications. The permanent staff has now been restored, and four additional men have been sent to County Monaghan.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a tabular statement showing the position over the last four years in County Monaghan.

Following is the statement:—
