Vol. 181 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish T.V. Service: Co-operation of Dublin and Belfast.

26.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of recent suggestions made in the Stormont Parliament regarding the co-operation of Dublin and Belfast in an Irish T.V. service; if any approaches have been made to his Department in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have seen newspaper reports to the effect that such a suggestion has been made, but no approaches have been made to my Department in the matter. I have no further statement to make beyond reaffirming the general policy of co-operation in matters of mutual advantage between ourselves and Northern Ireland.
