Vol. 181 No. 5

Written Answers. - Agricultural Employees Under 16 and Over 70.

28.

asked the Taoiseach if the agricultural employment statistics reveal the number or estimated number of agricultural employees under 16 years of age and over 70 years of age referred to in a reply of 28th April, 1960; and, if so, if he will state the estimated number of such persons.

The most recent data available concerning the age classification of persons engaged in agricultural occupations are those compiled from the 1951 Census of Population. These have been published in the official report "Census of Population of Ireland 1951; Volume II, Part II; Ages and Conjugal Condiditions classified by Occupations" (Pr. 2150).
