Vol. 181 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Width of Land Commission Roads.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to ensure that all future roads made by the Land Commission will be of a minimum width of sixteen feet so as to facilitate their being taken over for repair and maintenance by the local authority.

I am having this suggestion examined by the Land Commission. I should add that the limited user of such by-roads, particularly those serving merely a few allotments, would scarcely justify the increased expenditure involved in adopting a minimum width of sixteen feet in all cases.

Will the Minister ensure that the Land Commission will lay down a proper foundation for their new roads, which would be far more beneficial?

Sin ceist eile.

Is the Deputy interested in a particular bog road?

No, but he is interested in roads into holdings in county Kildare.
